Two schools in Alnwick have started the new academic year with a new uniform.

In the case of Swansfield Park First School, formerly Alnwick South First School, the uniform was introduced alongside the new name and logo, following the decision to leave the Aln Community Schools Federation.

Meanwhile, at the Duchess’s Community High School, it was felt that the previous uniform, incorporating blue hoodies, had served its purpose, was becoming increasingly poor quality in terms of materials used and that the shift mirrored a national trend for smarter, more traditional uniforms – and they are now in black, with with shirts and striped ties in school colours.

Plus it means that the new look will be in place for the new high school in 2016.
