The Gazette is asking readers’ help in reuniting a key, found on the coastal path near Boulmer, with its owner.

The doorkey, on a distinctive set of keyrings, was found between Seaton Point and Boulmer village last week.

It was then left on a gatepost but has yet to be claimed. The keyrings include a small and rather worn Tardis, from Dr Who fame, and The Stig, the anonymous racing-driver character from the Top Gear TV programmes. The Stig’s white paint has almost entirely worn off, leaving a grey metal figure. Obviously a telly fan.

Let’s see which method can find the owner. We’ve already tried Twitter, which has so far yielded 88 retweets, but no claimant. Next we’ll give the internet and our website a go, then we’ll turn to Facebook. Finally, if all else fails, there’s always the good old newspaper. Which one can unlock the mystery?
