Club steps into fund-raising

The new Rotary Interact Club at the Duchess's Community High School, Alnwick, has burst onto the fund-raising scene.

The brand new Rotary Interact Club at the Duchesss Community High School in Alnwick has burst onto the fundraising scene. Members of Interact and their President, Edris Ramezanpour, and Jamie Macauley, leader of the high school Ceilidh Band arranged a ceilidh and raffle that raised £500 which has been donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust in memory of fellow student Kieran Wood who died in February.The brand new Rotary Interact Club at the Duchesss Community High School in Alnwick has burst onto the fundraising scene. Interact is part of Rotary and caters for youngsters aged 12 to 18 as a progression from the well established RotaKids.

Elaine Smith, Alnwick Rotary member and Rotary district youth co-ordinator works extremely hard developing the clubs, which are charged each year to carry out two events to the benefit of either their school or community, and also one that promotes international understanding.
