Cyclist struck by car in Alnwick

A cyclist has been hit by a car in Alnwick.

Police were called to the scene, on Fenkle Street, at 3.12pm today after a male cyclist was hit.

He has been taken to hospital for treatment.

Eyewitness Matthew Slack said: “The car came round the corner and just when into the cyclist. The fella flew over the top of the car and let out quite a big yelp.

“Luckily there was a Community Support Officer walking past who managed to stop the traffic.

“The ambulance has taken him away and it’s all clear now.”
