COMMUNITY speed watch volunteers were out on their first check on drivers in Northumberland last week.
On Tuesday, July 5, the volunteers checked vehicles at hotspots on the A697 in Longframlington and Longhorsley.
At Longhorsley, 91 vehicles were checked, with five caught using excessive speed, while 10 out of the 62 checked in Longframlington were driving too fast.
The drivers of the vehicles which were travelling too fast were sent letters about their speed.
Acting Police Inspector Graham Vickers said: “The Community Speed Watch is continuing in hotspot areas identified by the community.”
