Police are appealing for witnesses after tools were stolen from two vehicles in Alnwick.

Thieves targeted a pair of locked Ford Transit vans between 5pm on Saturday and 10am the following day.

One was parked on the Cornhill Estate and a Makita drill set, Dewalt drill and a Makita circular saw were taken.

The second vehicle was parked in Coopers Close and the thieves pinched a Paslode nailgun, Milwaukee radio and Milwaukee drill.

Anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious, is asked to contact police.

Officers also want to hear from anyone who is offered these items for sale.

Police are urging workers to remove any tools from vehicles which are parked overnight to help prevent further thefts.

Anyone with details, call police on 101.
