Rustlers take 86 lambs

SHEEP rustlers have stolen 86 lambs from a Belsay farm.

The sheep, which are of the Textel breed, were taken from two fields in the area sometime between Tuesday, September 20 and Tuesday, September 27.

Police believe the thieves must have had some knowledge of shepherding and probably used suitable transport, such as a wagon or trailor to remove the lambs.

Any unusual sightings of such vehicles should be reported to police immediately via 999. Anyone with information about the theft or the whereabouts of the stolen sheep should call officers on 03456 043043, ext 69191, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
