TWO Amble men, charged with affray, will have their cases heard at the crown court.
Simon Heron, 27, of Henderson Street, and John Ashley Jamieson, 22, of Straffen Court, are charged with using or threatening unlawful violence during an incident in Amble’s Edwin Street on May 22 last year.
At South East Northumberland Magistrates’ Court last Friday, the case was sent to Newcastle Crown Court. The men entered no pleas.
Charges relating to a public order offence were dropped and the case was adjourned to Friday, June 8 at 10am at the crown court.
Heron and Jamieson are on bail with conditions not to approach 5A Edwin Street and not to contact prosecution witnesses.
Heron also pleaded not guilty to a separate charge of witholding information to obtain motor insurance.
The case was adjourned for trial on Tuesday, July 10 at 2pm. Jamieson is on unconditional bail for that charge.
