A 64-YEAR-OLD man was given an overnight curfew for threatening behaviour.
John Goodwin, 64, was arrested on Saturday following an altercation with youths at the flats in St Michael’s Square.
He was sentenced to a community order with a four-month curfew between 7pm and 7am at South East Northumberland Magistrates Court on Monday.
Police said they received a report of a knife being used but the man was charged with threatening behaviour, a public order offence.
Nobody was injured.
