A BURGLAR was jailed for nine weeks after breaching the curfew in his original sentence every night.
Alnwick Magistrates Court heard how 41-year-old Peter Pringle, of Hotspur Court, Alnwick, had been given a community order for burglary and receiving stolen goods on December 8.
On January 12, he had appeared in court again for breaching his curfew and another probation programme was added.
Since then he had not attended his appointments and had breached his curfew on every night.
Pringle admitted the breach and magistrates resentenced him for the original crime.
He had been discovered by police lying on the rafters in the attic of an Alnwick house, although he claimed he had been asked to help a friend who said he was clearing scrap metal from the house.
John Brown, defending, said: “Since his son’s death he has found it even more difficult to slot back into society.”
On being led from the court, Pringle said: “I’ll be back.”
