POLICE are appealing for witnesses after £10,000 worth of jewellery was stolen in a burglary from a home in Alnwick.
Thieves gained access to the house through an insecure window and searched the house off Alnmouth Road, Alnwick, on Thursday, May 24, between 12.30pm and 1.50pm.
They left with the jewellery which included rings, earrings, pendants and chains.
Alnwick Neighbourhood Police Inspector Paul Truscott said: “We would appeal to anyone who was in the area at the time who might have seen anything suspicious or anyone offered jewellery to buy to get in touch with us.
“I’d also like to remind people to secure all doors and windows when leaving their property.”
