November is Craster WI’s annual meeting month. Mrs Shaw welcomed members and Jerusalem was sung.
The secretary read the October minutes and they were duly signed.
The group meeting was a success this year.
Enclosures and reminders of events in Cresswell House were read out.
Our A and B domino teams were through to the next round, our darts team is yet to play.
An invitation had been received from Aln Gift Shop, Alnmouth, and four members had attended Brizlee, a very enjoyable night with entertainment.
Arrangements were made for the coffee morning in aid of cancer projects in this areas. The December Christmas party food was arranged.
The birthday flowers went to Winnie Banks, the raffle winners were Mrs P Flegg and the competition which was for an article beginning with the letter B was won by Mrs Rosemary Gibbs; 2 Mrs Marjorie Hewitson; 3 Mrs Shirley Tucker.
A supper of pies, peas and several sweets was served by Mrs Twyford and Mrs Nicholson.
The annual meeting followed and Joyce Shaw welcomed Prudence Marks, our WIA for the evening.
The secretary gave our annual report, the treasurer gave her financial statement and the president gave her annual address, when she thanked the committee and members for their support, and Sylvia Biott for the interesting programme we have had.
Mrs Marks then gave a resume of the coming events for the WI’s centenary next year. This concluded the annual meeting.
