CRASH UPDATE (8.45pm): At least two casualties in Alnwick Moor accident

At least two people have been injured in a two-vehicle crash which has closed the Alnwick Moor road this evening.

Emergency crews were called to a serious accident on the B6341 between Foster Cottage and Stouphill shortly before 7.30pm.

A spokesman for Northumbria Fire and Rescue Service said a casualty was ‘extracted from one of the vehicles’ and another was described as walking wounded.

The road has been closed in both directions between Chapel Lands and Lemmington Bank, with diversions in place, and is expected to remain closed for ‘a considerable amount of time’.

Two fire and rescue crews from Alnwick and Amble, police and ambulances were all in attendance and casualties were treated at the scene. The fire crews have now left the incident.
