Cowboys, cakes and karaoke help pub raise money for cancer support charity

A fund-raising event in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support is being held in Amble later this month.

The charity day is taking place at the town’s Harbour Inn, on Leazes Street, on Saturday, September 29.

The venue will be open from 9am until midnight and there will be different stalls throughout the day, including cakes, bric-a-brac, face-painting and a tombola.

There will also be a tug-of-war challenge between the pubs in Amble.

From tea-time onwards, the venue will host a Wild West-themed night and party-goers are encouraged to dress up in a Western-style.

There will also be live entertainment throughout the night, including karaoke.

The event has also secured the services of some topless butlers from the Northumberland Butlers 4 You company, who will be on hand for part of the night.

All are welcome to the fund-raising day, although U16s are not permitted after 9pm.

Landlady at the Harbour, Suzanne Patterson, urged people to attend the fund-raising day.
