Court date

A MAN accused of fraudulently obtaining more than £4,700 from the Barn at Beal restaurant and visitor centre while he was general manager there has appeared at Berwick Magistrates Court.

James Loughran, of Byron Court, Swalwell, Tyne and Wear, is alleged to have taken cash to the value of £4,726.12 between March and December 2010.

The 50 year-old is also accused of stealing £300 worth of wine belonging to the Barn at Beal between November 1 and 30 and two bottles of wine worth £36 on December 23.

The case was adjourned until June 21.
