A DRIVER suffered facial injuries following a four-car crash on the A1 at Belford last Friday, in which one vehicle ended up on its roof.
Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision at 2.50pm, which involved a Ford Fiesta, Ford Focus and two Audis.
One of the cars had rolled onto its roof, while another came to rest in a hedge.
The road was closed for two hours while the vehicles were recovered and one person was taken to Wansbeck General Hospital, although their injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
A traffic management plan was put into action by Northumbria Police during the clean-up.
In a separate incident, a driver was airlifted to hospital after a crash on a country road.
Police and ambulance crews attended the scene on the B6341 between Alnwick and South Charlton at around 5pm on Tuesday, June 21, after a one-car collision.
The Great North Air Ambulance was called and the driver was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
