At a recent weekly meeting of the Rotary Club of Amble and Warkworth, two cheques were presented to Elpha Lodge, a privately-owned residential care home in Broomhill for 22 adults with physical disabilites.
Elpha Lodge was chosen by club president Dr Paul Creighton as his chosen charity for 2014.
The Rotary Club donated £1,500, which included £300 donated at the funeral of Cyril Cooke, who was a past president of the club.
Bob Huntington, managing director of Lynemouth Power, donated a further £300 on behalf of Lynemouth Power Charitable Trust.
