A mother who is organising a fund-raising cancer run in her town after fighting her own battle with the disease has been ‘overwhelmed’ by the support she has received.
Last week, we reported that Sharon Reid was planning a Race for Life event in Alnwick, in aid of Cancer Research UK.
The date of the event, which will feature 5k, 10k and children’s races, has changed from Sunday, May 12, to Sunday, May 19.
Hosted by Alnwick Town Football Club, the men’s race will start at 11.30am, followed by the women’s race and children’s fun run. Men can take part with the women if they prefer.
People are being encouraged to wear fancy dress and sponsorship forms are available from CBS Alnwick.
Businesses have donated raffle and auction prizes.
