Run by Northumberland Fire and Rescue Service, the YFA is calling for young people aged 13 to 17 to join their local teams for a chance to try something new.

Wooler Fire Station runs sessions on a Monday nights, Berwick’s is on a Tuesday and Alnwick and Rothbury hold theirs on Thursdays, from 6pm to 8pm, for £2/session.

Bethany, the YFA’s project officer, said: “The Young Firefighters Association is a great way to get involved in the fire and rescue service.

“Cadets who take part in the sessions have a chance to get involved in some fantastic activities which could help them to develop skills, grow in confidence and start a career. Above all, the Young Firefighters Association is lots of fun and a great way to meet new people.”
