Northumberland Sheep Dog Trials League

The league held a nursery trial at Sionside Farm, Belford, on Sunday, December 15.

Gordon Rogerson from Wooler judged 13 dogs working well behaved Suffolk sheep over a large hillside course.

Results: 1 Mark Day (Alwinton) with Joe, 81/100pts; 2 Gordon Watt (Corbridge) Huthwaite Storm, 80; 3 Willie Armstrong (Belford) Roy, 78; 4 Michael Davidson (Wooler) Groesfaen Taff, 76; 5 Bevis Jordan (Whitfield) Bear, 75; 6 Kerry Watt (Corbridge) Reba, 72.

Best Novice: Sarah Wilson (Ingram) with Star. Best new handler: Ben Robinson (Bamburgh) Kim.

Cameron Dickson from Coldingham judged 19 dogs working Blackface sheep that needed firm handling over a demanding hillside course.

Results: 1 Dale Armstrong (Gilsland) with Kim, 91/100pts; 2 Gordon Watt (Corbridge) Huthwaite Storm, 86; 3 Bevis Jordan (Whitfield) Bear, 85; 4 Mark Day (Alwinton) Joe, 84; 5 Tony Iley (Longframlington) Irwell X 84; 6 Michael Davidson (Wooler) Groesfaen Taff, 83.
