Small businesses are in their starting blocks to meet three-time Olympic medallist Kriss Akabusi at a free seminar.

The event is being hosted by Amble-based accountancy, tax and financial planning experts Nickalls on Wednesday at The Gosforth Marriott Hotel in Newcastle and promises to explain how making small changes can make a big difference.

The seminar is broken down into morning and afternoon sessions, in which Kriss and growth expert and former UK Entrepreneur of the Year Steve Pipe will outline the practical steps business owners can take to improve cash flow, increase turnover and boost profits.

Track legend Kriss will reveal his take on how making changes allowed the UK 400metre relay team to beat the USA against all the odds and take a gold medal at the 1991 World Championships, while Steve, the author of several best-selling business books and a star of the BBC1 TV series Easy Money, will talk through a case study on one small business that made changes that led to an extra £2.2million flowing through the owner’s business and personal bank accounts.

Trish Grahamslaw, partner at Nickalls, said: “Kriss and Steve are an inspirational partnership and have put together a fast-paced, entertaining seminar that focuses on the simple yet powerful business and tax strategies that most businesses overlook.”
