Harrison and Hetherington held their weekly primestock sale of sheep together with their annual Christmas Show at Wooler mart.

From consignments across north Northumberland and the Scottish Borders, there was an excellent quality show of sheep with 1251 prime lambs and 521 Ewes sold.

The annual Christmas Show expertly judged by Mr Jimmy Curle, Bowsden was again dictated by the Beltex sire.

Champion pen of lambs for Beltex were awarded to Lilburn Estates weighing 41kg and selling to the judge Mr J Curle for £105. Reserve Champion went to Messrs SH Spours & Son, Henlaw for Beltex weighing 40kg and selling at £89 again to Mr J Curle

Harrison and Hetherington’s senior auctioneer at Wooler Auction Mart, Tony Hall said: “We saw a larger number of lambs put forward and trade was buoyant with prices remaining firm and steady. Here at Wooler the mart is well equipped to handle the larger numbers and we welcome the increased activity.”
