Store’s bid to plant more trees in the area

A north Northumberland business is proving its green credentials by running a tree-planting initiative this summer.

The Wild Sheep Company is a climbing, mountaineering and ski store based on Narrowgate in Alnwick.

Keen to promote environmental good practice, the shop has fittings made from recycled, upcycled and reclaimed materials, it only uses cotton carrier bags which are sold at a modest price and a percentage of that sale goes to environmental causes and all of the cotton clothing sold is certified organic.

Continuting this trend, from now into August, the store has pledged to plant a tree for every £50 of Sherpa Adventure Gear Clothing and for every £50 of climbing equipment sold.

They are looking for schools, community groups and gardens who would be willing to provide a space for some of these trees.

Anyone interested can drop into the store at 14 Narrowgate or contact Matt on matt@wildsheepco.co.uk or 01665 798020.
