Popular doughnut brand Krispy Kreme has opened an outlet in Alnwick today.

The Alnwick Garden welcomes the artisan doughnut company, the only location between Newcastle and Edinburgh to stock the famous confectionery following a deal with the US brand.

To celebrate, the Krispy Kreme team will join visitors to the venue tomorrow for a doughnut dipping and decoration workshop.

The Duchess of Northumberland told business website bdaily: “I love Krispy Kremes as a treat and I’ve often given a box to friends as a thank you.

“It’s a very popular present and fantastic that Northumberland has at last got a Krispy Kreme outlet.”

The firm is the latest to join the food offering at the Garden which has also recently opened a fish and chip shop.
