A one-stop boutique for men is set to open in Alnwick later this month after a businesswoman saw a gap in the market.
Born and bred in Alnwick, Lisa Aynsley is launching Hotspur 1364 on Narrowgate. Currently an events manager for Northeast Press, Lisa, 41, has teamed up with Jacqui Chapman, of event management company JC Events, to make her dream become a reality.
Hotspur 1364 will be taking over the former Woody’s store with two floors providing everything from quality high-endmenswear to edgier lines for the boys about town.
The shop will also feature an in-house barber to give the boutique something extra.
Lisa said: “ I saw a gap in the market and went for it.
“Men traditionally enjoy shopping less than women and the aim is to turn that around,
“Jacqui and our team have worked hard to create an environment that will make the guys feel at home, and the shop fit is amazing – there is seriously nothing else like it for miles around.
“We are looking at creating a community for guys to be a part of with VIP Clubs, appointment-only personal shopping experiences, a Fantasy Football League, whisky taster sessions, cigar clubs and much, much more.
“The response to the boutique has already been phenomenal and the doors aren’t even open yet. The Facebook page has had over 400 likes in under two days of going live.
“There is a really positive feel about Alnwick at the minute, visitor numbers are higher than ever and empty properties are starting to fill, having stood vacant for a long time.
“I have worked all over the UK and the time is right for me to do something in my home town, a high-end menswear boutique is what the town is missing.”
It is on track to open at the end of the month, but for more information, search for Hotspur 1364 on Facebook.
