Annual Show and Sale of Rams

North East Livestock Sales sold 160 shearling rams at their annual show and sale. The show was judged by G Herdman, Edlingham Demesne and sponsored by Scot JCB, Alnwick.

Champion Tup went to a quality carcassed Beltex Shearling from Fiona Mellor, Annstead Farm. Top-price tup of the day was a solid Texel from Neville Beresford, Bolton Post Office sold for £1,000 to neighbouring farmers Ian and George Smith, West Bolton.

North East Livestock Sales sold 68 prime cattle including 15 cast cows and 2,862 sheep comprising 2,237 lambs and 624 cast ewes.
