BORDER Livestock Exchange Ltd to week ending Friday, September 9, sold 115 Prime Cattle, 43 Cows, 177 Store Cattle, 85 Cows with Calves, 5,352 Prime Lambs, 316 Cast Ewes, 1,683 Store Lambs, 503 Breeding Sheep and 147 Kelso Rams.

Cattle trade continues to firm with well finished Cattle in great demand. Aberdeen Angus x Steer from Bonjedward Mill, Jedburgh sold 344p per kg to Well Hung and Tender, Berwick-upon-Tweed

English Limousin x Heifers from Fenwick Steads, Belford sold to 332p per kg. Cast Cows sold to record prices with an 11 year old Luing Cow from Duncrahill, Pencaitland selling to 290p per kg and £1,197 per head. Simmental x Cows from Roxburgh Mill, Kelso to £1,219 per head.

Prime Lambs remain steady with large numbers on offer. Ex farm prices per head £85.36 Langraw, Bonchester Bridge, £84 Lochside, Yetholm, £83.60 Hassendean, Hawick. £82.95 Hardenpeel, Jedburgh and South Riccalton also Jedburgh.

Continental x Export Lambs to 390p per kg Sharplaw, Hownam and Upper Chatto also Hownam.

Breeding Sheep continue to sell extremely well. Mule Gimmers to £165. 1 Crop Mule Ewes to £145, 2 Crop Mules to £130, four Crop Warranted Ewes to £100.

Store Cattle very buoyant selling to £1,000 for Aberdeen Angus Bullocks ex Borewell, Berwick upon Tweed.

Store Lambs slightly easier with Texel Crosses selling to £60.
