Holiday park gets new owner

A NORTH Northumberland holiday park has been taken over by a leisure operator in its first deal outside Scotland.

Verdant Leisure, owner and operator of Thurston Manor Leisure Park in East Lothian, Pease Bay Leisure Park in the Scottish Borders, and Viewfield Manor Leisure Park in Ayrshire, has added Riverside Country Park in Wooler to its portfolio.

The deal is the holiday park operator’s first outside Scotland and is part of the growth strategy to create a regional group.

There are more than 350 holiday-home owners and a 40-strong hire fleet at the park, which is set within 80 acres of woodland on the edge of the National Park.

Graham Hodgson, CEO of Verdant Leisure, said: “Our focus is on acquiring already thriving businesses that we can add value to through operational improvements, physical development and investment in customer services and marketing.

“Riverside is a welcome addition to our portfolio and is a good fit with our brand.”
