Nominations for the 2015 Northumberland Business Awards are now open.

The awards, organised by Northeast Press, publisher of the Northumberland Gazette, Morpeth Herald and News Post Leader, and Tweeddale Press, publisher of the Berwick Advertiser, are now in their eighth year.

They encompass 12 different categories: New business (under two years), Social Responsibility Award; Apprentice/Trainee of the Year; Employer of the Year; Best Green Business; Exporter of the Year; Creative Industries Award; Innovation Award; Leisure Award; Large and Small Business of the Year; and Lifetime Achievement Award.

The winners will be announced at a special celebration dinner at Linden Hall on Thursday, November 12, and entries are now being sought for the competition.

Northumberland has for centuries been renowned for its exquisite food, agriculture and tourism, as well as many other forms of industry.

This year’s awards will celebrate those businesses that are excelling in their fields and helping to boost the local economy.

The event, with a black tie dress code, will feature a gala dinner recognising and celebrating business excellence within the county.

The event is open to any businesses based in Northumberland.

Arch, the Northumberland Development Company, and Phoenix Taxis have so far offered their support to sponsor categories within the awards.
