Alnwick-based company metrology software products ltd (MSP) is celebrating after winning a prestigious award for its partnership with global advanced manufacturing company, Renishaw.

The two companies won Best Supplier Partnership at the MTA Manufacturing Industry Awards 2015.

This award celebrates successful relationships where innovation, sustainability, value and efficiency have led to productive collaborations.

The panel of judges felt that a large innovative company choosing a smaller partner gave huge credibility to its offer and entry.

It demonstrates the need for small and medium enterprises and how it is possible for a Northumberland-based software company to make a big impact within a global industry.

This 12-year partnership between the two companies has been essential for the manufacturing industry and produced many innovative products.

Renishaw is a global manufacturing company with expertise ranging from metrology to medical solutions. Within this partnership, MSP creates the software for some of Renishaw’s biggest products.

Peter Hammond, MSP technical director, said: “To be recognised as the best supplier partnership for 2015 is an honour and I am extremely proud of our partnership with Renishaw and what we have been able to achieve.

“Our partnership is based upon innovation, trust and quality and together we have worked closely to produce innovative products for the manufacturing industry.”
