A north Northumberland holiday park has brought home an accolade from a national awards ceremony.

Riverside Country Park,in Wooler, has been awarded the Best in North award in the Relax and Explore category at the seventh annual Hoseasons gala awards dinner.

The award ceremony, which took place at Ramada Birmingham earlier this month, showcased the achievements of Hoseasons’ 480 lodges and holiday parks throughout the UK.

The event also served to highlight the growing success of UK lodge and park holidays in 2012.

Bev Dixon, of Verdant Leisure, owner of Riverside Country Park, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have won the Best in North award.

“This award recognises the effort and hard work put in by every member of the team, all of whom are responsible for ensuring our customers have a great holiday experience.

“This award proves the hard work has paid off and we aim to continue to deliver great UK holidays in 2013.”

The gala dinner was part of an industry event hosted by Hoseasons, designed to review the past 12 months in tourism and to look at the issues and challenges facing UK holidays in 2013.

“The Hoseasons Group is the largest self-catering holiday company in the UK, so winning one of these awards means Riverside Country Park is one of the UK’s most popular and successful locations in our portfolio,” said Pali Badwal, managing director for Hoseasons.

“Like many holiday companies the business has built on the strong success of UK holidays in 2012, and we look forward to helping locations continue to develop and grow in 2013.”

The awards, which were broken down into region and type of holiday experience, were presented to the lodges and parks who had independently achieved the highest scores in the Hoseasons customer satisfaction surveys.
