Bakery and cafe becomes 100th choc customer
A north Northumberland artisan bakery and coffee shop has been selected as the 100th stockist of a specialist chocolatier’s products.
The Running Fox, in Felton, has selected the milk, dark and white chocolate Melts from Marimba World Chocolate to provide customers with an indulgent choice of drinking chocolates.
It is also stocking Marimba’s single-origin chocolate bars and tins of Hot Chocolate Melts for resale to its customers who want to sample the products at home.
Explaining her decision to switch to Marimba for its drinking chocolate, Kris Blackburn, proprietor of the Running Fox, said: “As an artisan bakery and coffee shop, our ethos is to provide customers with high-quality, local or British-made produce and ingredients.
“We therefore took the decision to replace our previous hot chocolate drink with something more specialist and unique.
“When we sampled the Marimba Hot Chocolate Melts, everyone loved it.
“We really like the fact that we can now offer customers more than one drinking chocolate option, and love that it is produced by a specialist British chocolatier.”
Marimba launched its Hot Chocolate Melt range to the food-service industry in March 2012.
The Marimba Hot Chocolate Melt is made from flakes of real single-origin chocolate and is available in white, milk or dark chocolate.
Blended with milk, each Hot Chocolate Melt contains the equivalent of a 40g chocolate bar in every serving, creating a highly indulgent drinking experience.
Kris added: “We didn’t want a run-of-the-mill hot chocolate but wanted something to reflect what we are about as artisan bakers.
“Marimba’s products fit perfectly with what we are offering; it’s an attractive, high-quality product that will really appeal to our customers.
“We feel quite special being Marimba’s 100th trade customer.”
