A former Alnwick shopowner is enjoying walking to work after moving her business to her home town.

Louise Lewis, who ran lingerie specialist Silk and Sand inthe Market Place for more than 13 years, has moved the shop to Rothbury.

She said: “I wanted a smaller shop, which is what I’ve got, but it’s got everything in that I want.

“I want to diversify a little bit but I’m still stocking my lingerie, which includes Panache, Lapel, Charnos, Fantasy, Freya, Triumph, Sloggi and Passionata.

“And I’m still doing a little bit of swimwear which is Moontide and Panache.”

Louise now also sells hand-made silver jewellery which is made locally in Northumberland.

She will also be soon stocking Northumbrian slang on mugs and greeting cards to appeal to tourists.

Louise added: “I’m trying to source everything local, apart from my branded lingerie.”
