A north Northumberland business breakfast club is playing host to an adviser who specialises in apprentices at one of its forthcoming events.
In February, the Gazette reported on The Weekly Business, which started hosting a breakfast club – Tuesdaybiz – at Alnmouth (Foxton) Golf Club last year and whose popularity had recently spawned a second morning on Fridays.
The sessions are all about growing your business through word-of-mouth referral.
The meeting organiser is Charlie Kenny, an Aussie who has been in the UK for nearly 30 years and now lives in Howick.
And at the group’s get-together next Tuesday, there will be a presentation from Chris Seabourne, an employer adviser at the National Apprenticeship Service (NAS), entitled Apprenticeships. What’s in it for me?
The morning runs from 7.15am until 9am and consists of breakfast over a structured agenda with introductions from local businesses, culminating in a presentation and question and answer session from Chris.
There will be the opportunity for those interested to discuss anything in particular with Chris after the meeting and anyone wishing to do so is encouraged to offer some advance notice.
It is billed as an ideal opportunity for employers and prospective apprentices alike.
The meeting costs £8 and includes venue hire and cooked breakfast and takes place at Foxton Hall Golf Club.
Booking is advisable on 01665 577084 or 07804 038570 or by emailing Charlie Kenny at firstname.lastname@example.org
Charlie said: “The meeting is an informative session for employers thinking of taking on either senior or young apprentices and looking for ways of utilising the current government incentives for doing so.
“Or for those prospective apprentices who themselves wish to find out more.”
