Amble company takes Northumberland honour

A firm that manufactures small aircraft drones is flying high after scooping a top award.

QuestUAV Ltd based in Amble, picked up the Best Business Start-Up Award on Thursday night.

The firm fought of competition from Newton Hall, First4websites and Kirkham Gray Ltd to take home the accolade of Best Business Start-up, sponsored by Business Northumberland.

The company designs and manufactures most of the airborne technology within their technical lab in Amble, where their clients inclide the European Space Agency, British Antarctic Survey and many universities around UK.

Director Nigel King said: “It is fantastic to have won, absolutely brilliant.

“We are a unique company and we have grown very fast and are a really good team that work very hard.
