A holiday park which boasts one of the best views in Northumberland has invested more than £200,000 to upgrade its facilities and is hosting an open day to show them off.
Northumbrian Leisure’s Glororum Holiday Park is releasing 26 new luxury static caravan pitches featuring concrete pads, car ports, 32-amp electric and piped gas.
The development is the latest in a string of improvements carried out by Northumbrian Leisure, since the family-owned business took over the park six years ago.
Nigel Thompson, who owns Northumbrian Leisure, said: “Glororum really is in the perfect location to enjoy everything the north Northumberland coast has to offer.
“We have invested heavily in the park in the last few years to improve both our static and touring facilities.
“This new phase has provided 26 brand new luxury static pitches and will be marked with our first ever open day at Glororum, so visitors can find out exactly what is available and appreciate just what a stunning location we have here.”
The new pitches will be officially opened on Sunday by Francis Watson Armstrong, owner of Bamburgh Castle.
The open day, which begins at 11am, will give visitors an exclusive opportunity to find out more about the park.
Entertainment, including bouncy castles, balloon modelling and facepainting for the children, and a barbecue and drinks will be on offer to celebrate the opening of the new pitches.
Since taking over Glororum, the company has carried out a major revamp of the site to bring it up to the modern, luxury standards enjoyed by the group’s other parks.
These include upgrades to the infrastructure and new shower and toilet facilities.
Northumbrian Leisure also owns parks at Warkworth and South Shields and is headquartered at Golden Sands Holiday Park at Cresswell.
