Bramble finds a new forever home

In more good news this week, one of the past dogs of the week featured in the Gazette has found a new home.

Bramble, who featured in the March 28 edition, is an old guy who was looking for a warm rug and some TLC.

He arrived at SHAK that week and it was obvious from his condition that he hadn’t eaten a good meal in a while.

At the time, we said: “With no history it’s hard to know his age, but he’s a gentle old soul that deserves better and at the moment it would be great if someone could offer him some respite for a little while to build up his strength.”

And now that goal has been realised.

Stephen Wylie, from the charity, said: “I’m delighted to say that one of the new SHAK boys who was featured in the Jam Jar column a couple of weeks ago has found a new home this week.

“You may remember this lovely old guy, Bramble, who was emaciated and in a really poor way and we were looking for a foster home to help him recuperate while we assessed his condition.

“Well, sometimes good things happen...”

If you have room in your home (and your heart) for any of the past dogs of the week, even for a few months, please email for details.

And for anyone who would just like to make a dog’s tail wag, dog walking at SHAK is a great way to get some fresh air and exercise, for both you and the dogs.
