AN Amble-based charity is kick-starting a heart-pumping, fat-burning exercise class.
The Boys’ Club Bootcamp is open to those who want to increase their overall fitness and flexibility levels.
The session, to be held every Thursday from 6pm to 7pm, starting next week, will utilise body-weight and light-weight exercises in a 30-minute workout.
Looking ahead to the classes, which will take place at Amble Boys’ Club, on Percy Street, instructor Bruce Durham said: “The idea is that the bootcamp will offer rapid weight-loss if combined with a sensible diet and other light exercise.
“We are running this class as it’s the summer, people want to be in shape and they want to get in shape as fast as possible.
“Surrounding yourself with other people who want to achieve the same aims as you, and who support you in achieving yours, is one of the best ways to lose weight and keep it off, in a controlled way.”
John Kelly, who is the other trainer and has donated kit through Kelly Construction, added: “The idea is that it’s once a week and you will do only 30 minutes of exercise in total during the class.”
It costs £2 per session, available on a first-come, first-served basis.
As with all fitness classes, anyone with health problems will need to be given the all-clear from a doctor before attending the sessions.
