THE office of MP Sir Alan Beith will be bedecked with bunting and a Union Flag to mark the Queen’s visit.
The Liberal Democrat, who was knighted in the Queen’s Birthday Honours in 2008 in recognition of his services to Parliament, thinks the visit will be a ‘tremendous’ boost for the town.
He said: “I am delighted that the Queen is visiting Alnwick and for the recognition of the work of carers across the county at the garden party, as carers deserve our thanks and support for all they do.
“The Royal visit is a tremendous opportunity for the town to get positive publicity and for people across the UK to see what our area has to offer, as well as giving local people the chance to welcome Her Majesty.”
Sir Alan will be attending the garden party and youth hostel opening.
