POLICE have revealed that the body found off the north Northumberland coast yesterday has been identified as a man from the Newcastle area.
This afternoon (Monday), police said that the body, which was recovered from the sea near Bamburgh yesterday at around 5pm, is a man in his 40s from the Newcastle area.
Seahouses lifeboat crew found the body at Black Rocks, four miles north of Bamburgh Castle and a quarter-of-a-mile out to sea.
There are not thought to be any suspicious circumstances relating to his death.
The coroner has been informed and an inquest will be opened in due course.
