A Northumberland biomass specialist firm whose expertise has fuelled Government reports is expanding after growing its turnover to £3million in just three years.

re:heat started as a part-time venture between directors Neil Harrison and Ben Tansey, but is now a full-time business with six member of staff and plans for further recruitment.

The company, based in Alnwick, has boosted its turnover from £163,000 in its first year to £783,000 in the second and now has annual revenues of more than £3million as homes and businesses increasingly opt to install biomass boiler systems.

The company works with installation partners, fitting biomass systems, which burn wood chips or pellets to provide heat throughout the north.

Neil and Ben have worked in the wood and heating sectors for decades and specialise in designing bespoke biomass systems for clients, finding the right equipment for them and project-managing the whole conversion from conventional to green heating.

re:heat also provide specialist consultancy services to businesses and Government departments.

Ben said: “re:heat’s rapid expansion is down to reputation we have built up in just three years and we are now looking recruiting to increase our team to meet demand for our services.”
