Beith puts pressure on for A1 dualling

Liberal Democrat MP Sir Alan Beith is urging the Government to back businesses in Northumberland and commit funds for A1 dualling.

During Treasury questions, Sir Alan asked finance minister Greg Clark to make a trip to the county as part of his upcoming visit to Newcastle, to highlight the importance of upgrading the road.

Speaking after the debate, Sir Alan said: “I shall be contacting the Minister’s office to make sure he is able to fulfil his promise.

“I raise the issue of dualling the A1 at every opportunity with as many ministers as possible to keep up the pressure for funding.”
