Treasured items

The October meeting of Bamburgh WI was opened by our president, Christine Hutchinson, who welcomed everyone, including one visitor.

The county events taking place shortly included a Murder Afternoon, Posh Puddings, Christmas Craft Workshop, a Snowman Beetle Drive and a Christmas Party.

Our next quiz night will be on October 24, at 7.30pm in the Castle Inn, and the monthly lunch club will be on October 27 at the Apple Inn, Lucker.

The speaker for the afternoon was Virginia, who is the manager of the Grace Darling Museum in Bamburgh. She was very informative, speaking about treasured possessions, and we learned about the best way to care for our delicate belongings.

Some of our members brought along various items and it was interesting to hear the story behind them. Virginia certainly was a treasure, not only with her knowledge, but helped us clear up afterwards.

Our next meeting will be on November 9 at 2pm, when Margaret Smith will give a demonstration of Iced Flowers. Visitors are extremely welcome.
