Award-winning folk/acoustic duo Gilmore & Roberts perform at live music session Rothbury Roots next week.

The twosome, aka Katriona Gilmore and Jamie Roberts, were nominated for Best Duo at the 2013 Folk Awards.

They have been working together since 2006, combining folk roots with a contemporary twist to deliver a powerful sound.

Ranging from hard-hitting to fragile, encompassing elements of folk, bluegrass and rock, their songs explore many and varied topics.

On stage, the combination of astounding lap-tapping guitar, fiery fiddle and their trademark harmonies has to be seen to be believed.

Andy Craig, of Rothbury Roots, said: “An evening in the company of this multi-talented duo will live long in the memory.”

The gig takes place on Thursday, April 25, at The Queen’s Head Hotel, Rothbury.

Doors open at 7.30pm, for an 8pm start.

Admission is £8 and tickets are available from the venue, by calling 01669 620470.
