A MAN accused of breaking an Alnwick teenager’s wrist and cheekbone has been told his case will go before Newcastle Crown Court later this year.
Christopher James Egdell, 21, of Alnwick Moor, is charged with causing grievous bodily harm to 18-year-old Charlotte Barber during an incident at Percy Street on Sunday, July 31.
He is also charged with causing criminal damage to a window. No pleas were entered.
On Tuesday, magistrates at Bedlington declined to accept jurisdiction for the case and bailed Egdell until September 29, when he will be committed to crown court.
Egdell’s bail conditions include not entering the town of Alnwick, residing at an address in Tarset, near Bellingham, and not communicating with prosecution witnesses, either directly or through a third party.
