Army gets set for the final push

THE Jam Jar Army marches on after hitting the three-quarter mark this week.

The grand total now stands at £7,564.96 as we aim to raise £10,000 for HospiceCare North Northumberland.

The recent boost was in part thanks to over £70 coming in that had been collected at Howick Hall.

And to help in our final push for the target, representatives of the Gazette will be out in Alnwick on Saturday to collect all the coins from shops, cafes and businesses in the town.

Anyone who has been collecting should make sure they are ready to empty out their jars, before trying to fill them again.

Full jars can be dropped off or emptied at the Gazette office, the HospiceCare centres in Alnwick and Berwick and the Lions bookshop in Alnwick.
