Planning applications for three small-scale housing developments in three different north Northumberland villages have been submitted to Northumberland County Council.

Commercial First has applied to demolish an existing dwelling and associated outbuildings at the Glendale Nurseries site at Wooler and replace it with four new homes.

In Longframlington, Terry Maughan has submitted a bid for four one-and-a-half-storey dwellings with garages and provision of new access onto the highway and site roads on land west of Meadow Lodge and south of Fram Park.

Finally, in Chatton, John Thompson wants to build two detached dwellings on ‘unproductive paddock’ to the north-west of the village, adjacent to the junction of Front Street and West Turnpike. One would have an integral garage and the other a detached one.

The latter two schemes have already sparked a number of objections from residents.
