POLICE are appealing for information after a number of break-ins to chalets at an Alnwick holiday park.
At noon on Tuesday, January 3, police received a report from staff at the Embleton Links park about a number of chalets which had been broken into since New Year’s Eve.
Eight chalets were broken in to and a number of items including tools and electrical equipment stolen.
Inquiries into the break-ins are ongoing and anyone with any information is asked to contact police on 101 ext 69191.
Acting Neighbourhood Inspector Graham Vickers said: “When thieves break into holiday homes or caravans they are looking for items they can carry off quite easily like TVs and DVD players. Remove them where you can, ensure your holiday home is secure as possible and make sure you carry out regular checks on it.
“We’ve introduced a number of caravan and holiday park watch schemes in the north Northumberland area where CSOs carry out regular patrols and hold regular meetings which give owners the chance to receive crime prevention advice and the opportunity to meet other owners on their sites.
“If anyone sees anything suspicious on or around holiday sites then contact police straight away and officers will happily come and check it out.”
