Anniversary school is having a ball

Warkworth First School started the new term with a celebratory day to mark the 40th anniversary of the school being opened on its current site. Pupils were invited to dress in a fashion style from the last 40 years. Among them were Emre Yasar, Charlie Dawson, Zak Robison (correct), Niamh MacKIntosh, Annabel MacKintosh, Honor Jordan, Lucy Miller-Trotter and Charlie Smith.

A NORTHUMBERLAND first school, is holding a Ruby Ball to mark its fortieth anniversary.

The event, for Warkworth First School, will take place at Longhirst Hall on Saturday, May 21 and all funds raised will go to the school’s PTA.

Tickets for this night celebrating the school and its role in the community cost £30 a person to include a reception drink, three-course meal with coffee, live music and dancing until midnight.

The organisers are appealing for people to donate raffle prizes.
