Story of Suffragettes

Amble Women’s Institute March meeting listened to a talk by Dr Liz O’Donnell, entitled Hens That Want To Crow: Suffragists and Suffragettes of the North East of England, 1865-1914.

It was greatly enjoyed by all members and guests, and Dr O’Donnell received a vote of thanks from the president.

The ladies went on to discuss various business matters, including the stall the group will have at the Puffin Festival in May, and it was noted that various local WIs had contacted them to wish them well.
